RACE DISTANCES AND START TIMES


All Distances will Start/Finish from Rosebud Skate Park

21.1km - 7.45am (Rego Close 7:15am)
10km - 7:55am (Rego Close 7:30am)
5km (Active Feet)- 8:05am (Rego Close 7:45am)
1km (under 10 only) 9.45am (approx)

START AND FINISH LINE


Start and Finish Line will all be located at Rosebud Skate Park. Corner Nepean Hwy/Boneo Rd, Rosebud. Warm up and Race briefing will commence 15mins prior to starting time for each event near the start line


MINIMUM AGE TO PARTICIPATE


21.1km Half Marathon - 14 years or older on race day
10km Fun Run/Walk - 8 years or older on raceday
5km Fun Run/walk - No minimum ages
1km Kids run - maximum age 10years (We encourage Dads/Mums to Run with Kids)​


ONLINE ENTRIES,LATE ENTRIES AND ON DAY ENTRIES


Online entries will close Friday 7 June 2023 at 6pm
Limited late entries will be available during the following times from the race venue:
Saturday  8 June 2024 1pm-4pm 
Sunday  9 June 2024 (45 mins before each race start time)


COURSE


The course is held on the picturesque Mornington Peninsula, along the Nepean Hwy from Rosebud heading towards McCrae and back to Rosebud for the 10km and 5km. The half marathon will continue past Rosebud along bay trial passing Capel Sound with final turnaround just before Rye Pier. The race will start on the road (Nepean Hwy) then move to the Bay Trial. It is a flat and fast course.

No dogs, bikes, scooters or rollerblades are allowed on course for safety reasons.

Cut off time - No Cut off time for 5km and 10km unless you take longer than 3 hours. Half Marathon we allow 3hours30mins as cut off time. 


BIB COLLECTION + BIBS MAIL TO YOU + MERCHANDISE


Each competitor will be given a timing device built within their race bib which will record their time on the day. 
Bibs/race numbers will be required to be picked up between the following times:
Saturday 8 June 2023 1pm-4pm 
Sunday  9 June 2024 (30 mins before each race start time)

Competitors can also collect friends/family race bib. Please ensure you know the name, age category and race distance of the participant you are picking up for. 


If you paid for BIB postage all bibs were sent out last week. So if you haven't received yours yet it should be coming shortly.. 


All competitors that paid for bib postage please note were sent out 2 weeks ago and you should receive shortly if you havent already. If you are unsure if you have selected to have your bib mailed to you you can check via https://myevents.active.com/ and log in via email addresses you used to enter

Merchandise purchased during registration process does not get mailed out and must be collected on race weekend from Registration Tent


AWARDS, PRIZEMONEY & SPOT PRIZES


1st, 2nd & 3rd place finishes, male and female, in each category will receive a trophy/medal. 
5km -  U18; 18-34; 35-49; 50-59, 60-69, 70+
10km - U18; 18-34; 35-49; 50-59, 60-69, 70+
15km  - U18; 18-34; 35-49; 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Kids Race - No Awards. Each child will receive a medal and spot prizes available


BIKE PARKING


Bike parking will be available at the event site. It’s a great way to warm up! Please bring your own lock.


TOILETS


Public toilet blocks and portable toilets will be located at the event site and along the course. There are also public toilet blocks on the course, which will be sign posted. ​FIRST AID St John First Aid will be located at the finish line, and on the course. If you require first aid assistance on the course, please notify a drink station attendant, course marshal or a course bike rider who will be able to radio for help. St John bike crews will also be roaming the course.


CLOTHING BAG AREA


A Clothing bag drop area will be located in the event site for storage of your clothing during the run/ walk. Please do not place any valuables in the clothing bags, as we cannot accept responsibility for valuables lost or stolen.


DRINKS ON COURSE


Water and Sports Drink (32GI) will be on course approximately every 3-4km for the Half Marathon, 10km has 2 drink stations and 5km has no drank stations, Refreshments will also be supplied at the finish line for all competitors. Please note there are also plenty of taps along the course as you run through foreshore caravan park most of the journey.​


COURSE CONTINGENCY


Event People reserves the right to alter the course, start time and/or race format without notice because of circumstances outside the control of the organiser and under the direction of sponsors, councils, police or other organisations that are associated with the event.


TIMING and RESULTS


Each competitor will be given a disposable timing device built within their race bib which will record their time on the day. Ensure you cross finish line timing mats to record your race time. Results will be posted here.


ENTRY CHANGES


Please notify us of any distance changes you wish to make prior to participating. Failure to notify us of changes will lead to delays in the results and on-day presentations. Read more on changing or withdrawing from events.


WITHDRAWS/CHANGES - TERMS & CONDITIONS



TERMS & CONDITIONS

The time frames noted are determined from the day of the Event in question.
Request for an Event Refund can be provided, as per the following:

  • Up to 8 weeks prior to the event, 75% of the entry fee will be refundable
  • between 4 weeks and 8 weeks prior to the event, 50% of the entry fee will be refundable
  • Between 1 and 4 weeks prior to the event, 25% of the entry fee will be refundable
  • between 0 and 7 days prior to the event, no entry fee is refundable.
  • NO REFUNDS will be available after the last time period under ANY circumstance
  • In the situation where an event is postponed and your entry is moved to the new date, the refund window for your entry will remain as it was at the announcement of the event date change.

Request for an Event Transfer can be provided, as per the following

Can take place up until 7 days before the date of the Event
Transfer to the 2025 Frankston Running Festival or another runthepen event
Can be transferred to an event of greater or lesser value, which will require a payment to pay the outstanding balance between the two, if greater value. If you transfer to an event of lesser value, no refund or credit of the difference in price between the two is given.
BUT you cannot transfer into an Event that has already reached capacity
Please note that a transferred entry cannot be refunded in any manner after the original event has passed.  It however can be transferred again once, within that season ONLY.

Change of Distance 

If you wish to transfer to a shorter distance event at the same festival, no refund or credit for the difference in price between the two distances will be given
if wish to upgrade to do a longer distance then you will need to pay the price difference if applicable
if you already received your BIB you will need to come to the registration tent on race weekend and exchange for new on

There is NO TRANSFER between athletes

PENINSULA RUNNING FESTIVAL FAQ


Important information for this weekends event


LAST MINTUE FAQ's we have been asked over the last couple of days


1. If you have your bib as it was was posted to you (which you paid for) then you dont have to go to the registration tent on weekend, you just need to wear bib and jump on the start line and enjoy your race.
2. If you paid for a bib and it never arrived (it was sent via auspost), then you will have to come down to registration tent Saturday or Sunday to pick up a new one. We will refund you the $10 you paid, sorry they were all sent.
3. You must collect and wear a bib no exception to race on course
4. You cant transfer your entry to someone else. Refer below T and C's
5. If you need to collect your bib and can only come down Sunday morning please be early. If you late you may be refused time to collect bib and therefore race.
6. We wont be monitoring our phone lines this weekend so if you have any late enquires best to ask at event expo on weekend or email info@eventpeople.com.au
7. If you are wanting to change your distance you can do but this needs to be done at Registration tent
8.STRICTLY no refunds or transfers will be accepted now for this weekends event.


WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT THE COURSE


  • The course is mainly made up of the Bay trial and with a little bit of asphalt path along the way. The course takes you in and out of the foreshore camping area. So plenty of taps and toilets around,
  • We will mark out the shortest and safest course for you to follow. The course will have placed along the route little orange flags, some cones to block paths, some fences with arrows and signage with directions (eg turnaround points) etc that you can follow. The main turnaround points will be crowd control fences with signage indicating which distance turnaround it is for.
  • Please note there are many options you can take to get to each turnaround point and each option will take you there with some bring quicker than others. As stated we will mark out the quickest one for you to follow.
  • Please note there will be timing mats at all turnaround points to make sure each athletes completes the correct distance they have entered
  • We will place signage around the course to make sure the public are aware that the fun run is on and do not use paths during the event. Please make sure you are aware at all times of public on course and maybe yell in your nicest voice that a runner is coming thru please be aware.
  • Please note it will and is always the case its the athletes responsibility to make sure they complete the course distance they have entered. Not any marshal on the course fault if you take wrong route or miss a turnaround marker.
  • Please make sure you stay left on course always. 

The newest running event on the Mornington Peninsula is the Peninsula Running Festival and will take place again on Sunday 9 June 2024. The course will cover sections along the foreshore trails (Bay trial) with runners being able to enjoy running through some stunning landscapes with Port Phillip Bay as the backdrop. The course will take competitors from the Start/Finish line at Rosebud to McCrae and back to Rosebud for the 5km and 10km events. The Half Marathon competitors will continue past the start line at Rosebud and head towards Capel Sound with the turnaround just before the Rye Pier and finish at Rosebud. The weekend features a variety of running & walking events to suit all ages and fitness levels. All finishers receive a finishers medal.
